Marttakerho päämäärä on hyvin yksinkertainen: “Make people fat and happy”. Marttakerho saa tämän aikaan järjestämällä matalan kynnyksen ja helposti lähestyviä tapahtumia. Ydinkategorioita ovat kokkailu sekä hyvinvointi. Tyypillisiä ruoanteko tapahtumia ovat erilaisten keittojen tekeminen sekä pullien leipominen. Marttakerho järjestää myös usein haalarimerkkiompeluiltoja, joiden tarkoituksena on saada kiltalaisia ompelemaan merkkejäänsä mukavan porukan kanssa. Viime aikoina on muodostunut perinteeksi käydä syksyllä Ali-Ollin Alpakkatilalla.
Suurmartan rooli on ylläpitää edellämainittuja arvoja, johtaa marttatoimikuntaa ja olla linkki toimikunnan ja hallinnon/hallituksen välillä sekä huolehtia killan budjetista. Vastuuna on myös huolehtia tapahtumien kulusta sekä pitää toimikunta aktiivisena esimerkiksi pitämällä kokouksia ja keskustelemalla uusista ideoista.
Rooli ei vaadi aiempaa hallinto/hallitus kokemusta ja sopiikin erinomaisesti myös ensikertalaisille! Tärkeänä on motivaatio pyörittää toimikuntaa ja kyky toimia johtaja.

The grandma club has a very simple goal: “Make people fat and happy”. Grandma club achieves this by organizing easily approachable events. The main categories are cooking and well being. Typical cooking nights involve cooking soups or baking. Grandma club organizes also patch sewing evenings which aim to help people sew their patches in a relaxing evening. There is also a new tradition of going to Ali-Olli’s Alpaca farm every fall.
Great grandmas duties involve up-keeping the aforementioned values, lead the grandma committee, be the link between the committee and the board as well as take care of the committees budget. It is also important to take care of events hosted by the grandmaclub and making sure everything runs smoothly. Having meetings and listening to committee members is also very important.
The role does not require any previous experience of being a committee chairperson or being in the board and as such is a great opportunity for newcomers! The most important things are motivation and the ability to work as a leader.
