Dear Tietokilta Selection Committee,
I am honored to submit my application for the role of Van Manager for Tietokilta. Though I may not have won my last election, I remain undeterred in my commitment to serving our community and upholding the values we all share. The Tietokilta van is more than just a vehicle—it’s a resource that connects us, supports our events, and embodies the sense of shared responsibility that makes Tietokilta truly exceptional.
In my hands, the Tietokilta van will always be a safe, accessible, and reliable asset. I know how much it means to all of us, and I am ready to approach this role with responsibility, integrity, and yes, a little bit of humor. After all, the van’s reputation is important—no one should have to worry about it winding up on some questionable “for sale” site!
Here’s why I believe I am a strong fit for this role:

Commitment to Responsibility and Accountability
I am committed to upholding the highest standards of responsibility with the van, making sure it is used safely and for approved purposes only. In other words, I take seriously the trust you place in me to keep the van in service to Tietokilta and out of any… “compromising” situations. That includes making responsible driving decisions at all times, ensuring that the van stays as clean, professional, and legal as it was the day we got it. -
Dedication to Community and Inclusivity
My goal is to ensure that the Tietokilta van is a resource for everyone. I will work to make it available to all Tietokilta members fairly and reliably. By fostering clear communication and transparent scheduling, I will make sure that everyone has access to this resource when they need it, whether for academic activities, team building, or club events. -
Strong Organizational Skills and Clear Communication
Managing the van requires coordination, scheduling, and good communication. I bring a strong organizational background and am committed to putting in place a booking system that’s easy to use. I will ensure timely communication on the van’s availability and guidelines, so everyone knows the rules and is confident that the van will be available when needed. -
Mindful Stewardship and Sustainability
I recognize that responsible stewardship means keeping the van in top shape, being mindful of wear and tear, and adopting eco-friendly practices wherever possible. This could mean encouraging ride-sharing to reduce trips when feasible, helping reduce our collective carbon footprint, and supporting Tietokilta’s commitment to sustainability.
In closing, I would be honored to take on the role of Van Manager and serve Tietokilta with dedication, reliability, and yes, a promise to keep it between the lines (both figuratively and literally). I’m excited about the chance to keep Tietokilta moving forward—safely, responsibly, and always in good hands.
