Hei Tietokilta,

Haku vuoden 2024 hallitukseen on auki ja haku koskee seuraavia virkoja:

  • Varapuheenjohtaja (oltava varsinainen jäsen)
  • Rahastonhoitaja
  • Yrityssuhdevastaava
  • Opintovastaava
  • Viestintävastaava
  • Fuksikapteeni
  • Ulkosuhdevastaava

Hakeminen virkoihin tapahtuu lähettämällä vapaamuotoinen kirjallinen hakemus killan vaalifoorumille (kuten moni onkin jo esimerkillisesti tehnyt). Kannustan kaikkia vähänkään kiinnostuneita hakemaan vaikka rooliin olisi jo jokin hakija!

Tämän jälkeen laitan hakijoille vastattavakseen kirjallisia kysymyksiä hakemaansa virkaan sekä yleisesti hallitukseen liittyen. Lisäksi haastattelen jokaisen hakijan henkilökohtaisesti. Vaalisivuilla jäsenet voivat myös esittää kysymyksiä hakijoille.

Seuraavassa viestissä pidän kirjaa kaikista virkaan hakeneista henkilöistä ja päivittelen viestiä sitä mukaan kun haastattelut etenevät.

Hakemus tulee lähettää viimeistään torstaina 26.10.

Ehdotus hallituksesta sekä perustettavista toimikunnista julkaistaan vaalifoorumille viimeistään maanantaina 6.11. Ehdotus tullaan käsittelemään vaalikokouksen toisessa osassa torstaina 9.11.

Hey Computer Science Guild,

The application period for the board of 2024 is open and applies to the following positions:

  • Vice Chair (must be a regular member)
  • Treasurer
  • Head of Corporate Relations
  • Head of Academic Affairs
  • Head of Communications
  • Fuksi Captain
  • Head of External Affairs

You can apply to the positions by sending a free-form written application the guild’s election forum (as many have already done). I encourage everyone even a little interested to apply even though a role already has some applicant!

Afterwards I will send the applicants some written questions related to the role and the board in general. In addition, I will interview each candidate personally. On the forum, members can also send questions to the applicants.

In the following message I will keep track of all applicants and update the message as the interviews progress.

The application must be sent latest on Thursday 26.10.

The proposal for the board and the committees will be published on the forum latest on Monday 6.11. The proposal will be discussed in the second part of the election meeting on Thursday 9.11.

Hei Tietokilta,

olen päättänyt ehdottaa hallituksen varapuheenjohtajaksi Lauri Lappalaista.

Kaikki ehdokkaat olivat päteviä varapuheenjohtajan virkaan, joten päätin ensisijaisesti valita uuden toimijan. Päätöstä ei ollut helppo tehdä ja se olisi lopulta voinut mennä kumpaan tahansa suuntaan.

Molemmat ehdokkaat osoittivat:

  • kiinnostusta killan hallinnollisesta puolesta
  • ideoita hallinnon ja toimikuntien kehittämisestä
  • korkeata motivaatiota toimia vastuutehtävässä

Lopulliseen päätökseen vaikuttivat eniten seuraavat tekijät:

  • pitkään osoitettu kiinnostus tehtävää kohtaan
  • yhteistyö- ja johtamistaidot
  • omakohtaisia kokemuksia hallinnon sekä toimikuntien muutoksista ja niiden vaikutuksista
  • aikasempaa näyttöä vastuiden ylittämisestä ja motivoituneesta työstä sekä vastuullisuudesta

Tärkeää!

Lisäksi olen päättänyt toteuttaa loput hallitushaastatteluista sekä -päätöksistä yhdessä varapuheenjohtajaehdokkaan kanssa. Sovitan pikaisesti aikataulut yhteen Labbbiksen kanssa ja aletaan pitämään haastatteluja hyvään tahtiin jo alkuviikosta!

Hey Computer Science Guild,

I have decided to propose Lauri Lappalainen as Vice Chair of the Board.

All applicants were qualified for the position, so I decided to choose a new official. The decision was not easy to make and it could have gone both ways in the end.

Both applicants showed:

  • interest in the administrative side of the guild
  • ideas for improving the administration (committee chairs) and committees
  • high motivation to act in the position

The factors that most influenced the final decision were:

  • a long-established interest in the position
  • cooperation and leadership skills
  • first-hand experience of administration and committee changes and their impact
  • a proven track-record of over-achievement and accountability

Important!

In addition, I have decided to carry out the rest of the board interviews and decisions together with the proposed Vice Chair. I will quickly coordinate our schedules with Labbbis and we will start holding interviews at a good pace from the beginning of the week!

olemme päättäneet yhdessä varapuheenjohtajaehdokkaan Lauri Lappalaisen kanssa hallituksen kokoonpano -esityksestä yksimielisesti.

Valitut ehdokkaat osoittivat erityisesti korkeata motivaatiota, kiinnostusta etenkin hakemaansa tehtävää kohtaan sekä myös paljon uusia ideoita ja kehityskohteita. Ehdotetut hallituksen jäsenet ovat edustavia ja päteviä toimimaan vastuutehtävässä Tietokillan hallituksessa.

Kokoonpanossa on erinomainen tasapaino sekä kokeneempia että uusia toimijoita. Kokonaisuudesta puolet ovat aikasemmin toimineet hallituksessa ja puolet ensimmäistä kertaa, mahdollistaen riittävän jatkuvuuden tulevaisuuttakin ajatellen.

together with the proposed Vice Chair, Lauri Lappalainen, we have unanimously decided the proposal for the assemblage of the board.

The selected candidates showed especially high motivation, interest for specifically the role they applied for, and also many new ideas and areas of improvement. The proposed candidates are presentable and capable of acting in a responsible position in the Board of the Computer Science Guild.

The assemblage has an excellent balance of both more experienced and new responsibles. Half of the total have been in the board before and half are first-timers, enabling sufficient continuity with the future in mind.
